Courses & Student Projects
The Power Systems Laboratory (PSL) offers lectures and student projects spanning the full range of challenges in modern power systems, from fast dynamics and stability assessment to the slower-timescale problems of power flow, dispatch, market design, and long-term grid planning. Our courses build a solid foundation in modeling and analyzing electrical networks, machines, and converters, while also addressing operational and planning questions such as optimal power flow, renewable integration, and the design of future energy markets. Building on this coursework, PSL regularly offers semester and master's thesis projects that let students work closely with our research group on current topics across these timescales — from control and stability to optimization, planning, and policy-relevant questions in the energy transition.
